A Worcester high-footed sauceboat Circa 1753-4
Crisply moulded with with two C-scroll cartouches below a scrolling rim, painted to one side with a vignette of a 'Lond Eliza' figure holding a fan, the other side with a figure crossing a bridge, the interior with a flower spray below a border of Buddhist emblems and further flower sprigs, 20 cms.
(A similar sauceboat was sold from the Barbara Leake collection at a leading London auction house, for a similar shape see Godden's guide to English blue & white porcelain page 144, plt 161)
Condition - some minor firing cracks to rim and foot and some wear to enamels No restoration or repair
